Manulatex France is a French manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE), based in Champtocé-sur-Loire, near Angers, since 1979. The company designs, manufactures and sells chainmail gloves, aprons and tunics, together with work aprons and oversleeves, mainly for the food industry and agriculture.

Manulatex offers three product families: chainmail gloves (GCM, WILCO and WILCOFLEX ranges), metallic aprons and tunics (PARINOX, TPLUS, LIGHTOVER, LIGHTINOX and FLEXINOX), and work aprons and oversleeves (including LIMA, BRAVO, DELTA, MONOBLOC, OMEGA, YANKEE, GOLF, ROMEO, JULIET, SIERRA and KILO).

It serves the food industry (meat processing, canning, dairy and cheese-making, fish processing), industry (mechanics, chemicals, textiles, pneumatics, glass, steel), agriculture (milking, crop protection treatments) and ballistic protection. The stainless steel mesh used in the gloves, aprons and tunics is assembled at the production site in Champtocé-sur-Loire, near Angers. Manulatex’s 2026 catalogues carry the Made in France mark.

Yes. Manulatex uses a high-quality 100% stainless steel mesh, suitable for contact with food, in its gloves, aprons and tunics. Several work aprons and oversleeves are also rated for food contact; exceptions, test conditions and conditions of use are listed in the food-contact declaration, to be checked before use.

Chainmail gloves are category II PPE (NF EN 1082-1, NF EN 14328, ISO 13999-1). Metallic aprons and tunics have been certified category III PPE since 2021 (NF EN ISO 13998). Work aprons are most often category I PPE (NF EN ISO 13688), with SIERRA and S-PROTECPLUS rated category III. All of this falls under EU regulation 2016/425.
